This was part of the exciting first collaboration with Wimpy. The Our Stories in your home language was a huge marketing success for the fast food brand deeply entrenched in South Africa\u2019s family restaurant culture. This was a 6 book series that completely disrupted the South African literary landscape. It was also a huge win:win for small:big business partnerships. The books were launched in August 2021.<\/p>\n

An Ethnikids Publishers original production with a story penned by internationally acclaimed local artist Maya Wegerif, aka Sho Madjozi, and profiles the story of a little girl named Shoma and her adventures in her small town of Shirley.<\/p>\n

The book is unique in that it is an industry first for an augmented reality experience, infusing an afro-futuristic element with literary art.<\/p>\n

It is a beautiful story of friendship, loss, and community, told in a beautiful fun rhyming fashion taking the reader on a magical journey. The story is set in an African backdrop in a small village in Limpopo, South Africa, and Wegerif’s Xitsonga cultural influence comes through strongly across the book.<\/p>\n
